Frequently Asked Questions

Below, I have collected the questions that most frequently arise when ordering a translation. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for, please feel free to contact me.

How can I request a quote?

Request a quote via the contact form, send an email to info@kotaitranslation.com, or call me if you have any questions. Fees are calculated based on the length of the text, specifically the character count of the source text. The exact price depends on the type of service, the nature and complexity of the text, its format and the deadline. I will confirm the exact amount payable when the order is placed.

As I am exempt from VAT, I do not charge VAT.

How can I send you the text to be translated?

You can send the text via the contact form, by email or by post. Please note that translating paper-based documents involves an additional fee. I will then send you a detailed written quote specifying the deadline and the total amount payable.

What information do I need to provide for the quote?

Send the text to be translated by email, clearly stating your specific requirements. Please also indicate when you would like to receive the completed translation.

How can I order the translation?

You must confirm your acceptance of the quotation in writing.

How can I pay for the translation?

Private individuals can order the service by paying the amount specified in the quotation in advance, either by bank transfer or in cash. Business clients can pay by bank transfer.

How and when will I receive the translation?

I will send electronic documents to you by email. Printed official documents can be delivered by post or collected in person.

I need a certified translation. Can you provide one?

In a significant number of official procedures, only documents accompanied by a certified translation are accepted. Under Hungarian law, certified translations of a general nature may only be prepared in Hungary by the Hungarian Office for Translation and Attestation Ltd. (OFFI Ltd.).

However, individual specialised translators and other translation agencies are also authorised to provide certified translations into an official language of the European Union of company extracts, information to be entered in the company register and company documents. I can provide certified English translations of such company documents from Hungarian. The certification of other official documents, however, is carried out by OFFI. OFFI Ltd.’s certification authority applies only within Hungary. In line with the practice followed in other European countries, translations prepared and certified by specialised translators may therefore be accepted abroad as certified translations.
